I did a little search and a magazine called ‘Slate’ was mentioned. Seems like there’s a lot of people selling–it would be easy to get a bunch of catalogs. Also there are some articles in other magazines, probably for elderly or handicapped. Just do some more research. Probably can subscribe through the Internet too, or find an 800 number.
Don’t forget the public library–ask the librarian to help you find articles.
Live well and do good.

I’m looking for stairlift quotes for my mother in the UK, can anyone suggest a reliable company please?

Question by mattpone: I’m looking for stairlift quotes for my mother in the UK, can anyone suggest a reliable company please?
My elderly mother is now in need of help to get up and down the stairs so we are going to need to take the plunge and buy one of these stairlifts, but I’m aware there are some dodgy companies out there, so just looking for recommendations really? Any help appreciated.

Value stairlifts are a good company to get a quote from, when we got one they sent someone round it was no obligation which was what we were after. They’re a reseller for a few different brands so we had a bit of choice to choose from.

Hope that helps

Question by Nora: mobility scooter advise please
I am currently using a Legend by Pride. It is ok. I weigh 320, my dog 7 and i carry groceries so I need one that allows 350 lb. I need one 46 inches or less long so I can get on the local bus. I need the captains chair. I want a front and rear basket, full lights, rear view mirror, hand brake, and cane holder if it will fit next to rear basket.

You should really be asking this of a scooter store. They will know specifically which models meets your needs or can be modified to do so. I have 2 scooters for this reason – each meets a different set of needs because i could not find one which met all of them.
